The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) provides a centralized platform for placement into various tertiary institutions, including the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC). Aspiring medical students must follow a prescribed process to ensure their applications are accepted and processed efficiently.
Before applying, applicants must:
-Be a Kenyan citizen with a valid KCSE certificate.
-Have attained the minimum grade requirements for the KMTC programme they are interested in.
-Possess the necessary subject combinations as per the course guidelines (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, English/ Kiswahili, and Mathematics or Physics).
Visit the KUCCPS official website and navigate to the “Student’s Portal.”
Use the following details to log in:
-KCSE Index Number
-KCSE Examination Year
-Password (typically the birth certificate number or a number issued during KCSE registration)
Once logged in, review the available KMTC courses. Pay close attention to:
-Programme titles
-Required subject grades
-Cut-off points
-Campus availability
Applicants can select up to four preferred KMTC programmes. Choices should be made in order of priority. Each course has a unique programme code which must be correctly entered into the application fields.
Upon completing the selection, the system will prompt for payment.
-First-time applicants are typically required to pay a fixed application fee.
-Payment is made via mobile money platforms, using the applicant’s index number as the reference/account number.
After the payment is validated, applicants should finalize the process by submitting their applications. A confirmation message or page will appear as proof of successful submission.
Once the application is submitted:
-Applicants should routinely check the portal for any updates or changes to their application status.
-KUCCPS will later release placement results indicating the course and institution the applicant has been admitted to.
-Ensure accuracy in entering programme codes and personal information.
-Do not delay application, as late submissions are typically not accepted.
-Use official channels for any inquiries or clarifications.
-Maintain a record of your payment confirmation and submission receipt.
