The KUCCPS Inter-Institutional Transfer Portal is a dedicated online system managed by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service. It allows KCSE candidates who were successfully placed in higher learning institutions to apply for a transfer from one institution to another or from one course to a different one.
This option is usually available for a limited period after the placement results are released — typically for about 10 days.
You can apply if:
-You sat for the KCSE examination and were placed by KUCCPS in a university or college.
-You wish to change your institution or course.
-You meet the cutoff points and subject requirements for the new course you want.
-You’re ready to go through the process entirely online and follow up actively.
-Visit students.kuccps.net
-Log in with your KCSE Index Number, KCSE Year, and a password (typically your birth certificate number or the one you used during application).
-Once logged in, go to the Transfers section.
-Choose either:
1.Transfer of Institution (if you’re changing the entire school)
2.Transfer of Programme (if you want to change the course but stay in the same school)
-Search for the new program and institution you desire.
-Confirm that you meet the minimum cutoff requirements.
-After selecting your new choice, submit a transfer request.
-You’ll be required to provide reasons for the transfer (e.g., medical condition, financial constraints, change in career interest).
Upload any supporting documents (if needed).
-The new institution reviews your request and either accepts or rejects it.
-If accepted, they endorse the request online via their KUCCPS institutional portal.
-The school where you were initially placed is notified and must release you officially through the portal.
-Once both institutions agree, KUCCPS reviews the application.
-If everything is in order, KUCCPS approves the transfer and generates a transfer letter.
-You must download the official KUCCPS transfer letter.
-Present it to the new institution.
-The new school then issues a new admission letter and joining instructions.
-You cannot transfer to a course or institution where you don’t meet the cutoff or subject combination.
-The entire process takes place online — there is no manual or physical submission.
-KUCCPS does not accept appeals after the transfer window closes.
Transfers are typically only allowed once.

KUCCPS usually opens the transfer portal a few weeks after releasing placement results, typically for 10 days. In 2025, for example, the portal opens on July 14 and closes on July 24.
